Membership

Membership of the Queensland Guidance and Counselling Association (QGCA) is open to any person who has an interest in guidance, counselling and special education. Many of our members work as guidance officers or counsellors in the education system. We also have a large number of members involved in other professional areas such as special needs teachers, individuals involved in tertiary study in school guidance and counselling and university staff.

Membership of the Australian Guidance and Counselling Association (AGCA) is included with membership of the Queensland association. Members receive 4 copies of Connections, the newsletter of the QGCA, per year. In addition, they receive 2 newsletters and a journal from the AGCA per year.

Members also receive a discount on the cost of professional development organised by the QGCA and AGCA. The QGCA organises a conference every two years. In addition, a professional development officer organises professional development activities throughout the state during the year. The AGCA also has a conference every two years in different states in Australia.
